After the accident, the court found that the accident was caused by the negligence of the driver of the opposite vehicle. The driver was later fined 3,000 dirhams and released by a traffic criminal court. Abdul Rahman, with the help of friends, approached the insurance company for compensation after he incurred huge medical expenses. However, the insurance company rejected the application stating that the injuries were not serious. With this, Abdul Rahman approached the court after collecting medical records and police reports. The court also ordered Abdul Rahman to pay five lakh dirhams in compensation in the case. However, the insurance company filed a civil case against this in a Dubai court.

After months of arguments, the court found that the fault was on the part of the driver and that Abdul Rahman was seriously injured. Following this, the court ordered that the amount as decided by the Insurance Authority should be paid. The insurance company then approached the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, but the reply memorandum, including the documents submitted by Abdul Rahman’s lawyer, helped him. The courts completely rejected the insurance company’s arguments.
