300 Crore Unaccounted Cash Seized from Baudh Distillery Group Linked to Congress Leader Dheeraj Prasad Sahu

300 crore unaccounted money was seized by the Income Tax Department in the Odisha and Jharkhand establishments of the Baudh Distillery Group. The house of Odisha Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand Dheeraj Prasad Sahu, who is linked to the distillery group, was also searched. The BJP has alleged that the Congress family owns the Baudh Distillery Group, while the Congress has distanced itself from Sahu’s business. 200 large and small bags of money were seized and are still being counted. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh clarified that the party has nothing to do with Sahu’s business. The BJP has used the seizure to criticize the Congress, with Union Minister Smriti Irani stating that wherever there is corruption, there will be a Congress leader.
