(Web Desk) To provide relief to the public, a 300% increase in subsidy on pulses and rice at utility stores has been proposed from August 1.
According to the sources, it is proposed to increase the per kg subsidy of chickpeas and whole grains from Rs.25 to Rs.100, while the per kg subsidy of ghee has been proposed to be increased from Rs.70 to Rs.100.
It is also proposed to increase the subsidy on sugar per kg basis. This way, the public will get pulses and other commodities at utility stores more cheaply than in the general market.
Sources further said that the summary of the Prime Minister’s new package on utility stores has been sent to the ECC, this summary will be after the approval of the ECC and the Federal Cabinet, but it is proposed to apply the Prime Minister’s new package on the utility stores from August 1.

Sources say that under the Prime Minister’s package, subsidy is being given on 5 basic items at utility stores, in which sugar, ghee, flour, rice and pulses are being given to BISP users. 65 billion rupees have been allocated for the package.
According to the sources, 10 billion rupees have been allocated for the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package, 55 billion rupees have been allocated for the Prime Minister’s Relief Package this financial year, while 35 billion rupees have been allocated under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package in the last financial year.
