The price of green chillies has increased. On Friday (July 5), raw chillies were sold for Tk 300 per kg in the market of the capital.
Meanwhile, prices of most vegetables have gone up due to low supply due to rains and floods. Desi raw chili is being sold for 300 rupees. Imported raw chillies are being sold at Tk 280. Prices of other vegetables have also increased by Tk 20 to Tk 30 compared to last week. Except sweet pumpkin and potal, there is no vegetable price below 50 rupees.
On Friday (July 5) morning, after visiting various raw markets including Dhanmondi in the capital and talking to the sellers, it is known that the price of raw chili has increased by Tk 80 to Tk 100 per kg compared to last week. Last week’s green chillies which were sold at Tk 200 are now being sold at Tk 280 to Tk 300.
Apart from this, the prices of all vegetables have gone up due to low supply due to rains and floods. Eggplant Tk 100 per kg, bitter gourd Tk 100, papaya Tk 50, kachur lathi Tk 80, carrot Tk 80, each piece of gourd, cabbage and cauliflower Tk 70 to Tk 80, tomato Tk 160, chichinga Tk 60, cucumber Tk 80, barbati Tk 100, horseradish Tk 60. , Potal 40, Pumpkin 30 taka, Kankrol 80 taka are being sold.
On the other hand, the price of desi onion has increased by Tk 10 per kg in the grocery market and is now being sold at Tk 100. Potatoes are being sold at 60 rupees. Garlic is being sold at Tk 220 and Ginger at Tk 350.
Meanwhile, the price of broiler chicken has decreased slightly. Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 180 per kg. Golden chicken is being sold at the rate of 280 to 300 taka per kg. Beef is being sold at Tk 800 per kg and beef at Tk 1100 per kg.
Fish prices have increased this week compared to last week due to low production and supply of fish. Depending on the size, the price of cotton fish has increased by Tk 50 per kg. Now medium size roe fish is being sold for 380 to 400 taka. Which was 300 to 350 taka last week. Cultivated pangas are being sold at Tk 200 to Tk 220 per kg, Tilapia at Tk 220, Kai at Tk 350, Pabda at Tk 450 to Tk 500, Shrimp at Tk 800 to Tk 900.
Tamim Mridha, a vendor at the Banlata raw market in the capital’s New Market, told RisingBD that the supply of raw chillies in the market has reduced as production has been damaged due to rains and floods. Imports are also decreasing. So the price is increasing.
Lokman Hossain RisingBD, a private employee who came to shop at Salek Garden raw market in the capital, said that there is no vegetable below Tk 50. Fire in the fish market. All fish prices have increased.
