Russian Orthodox⁤ Church Patriarch Kirill has ⁢expressed support for Russia’s nuclear programme,⁢ calling the new Oreshnik⁣ missile an important achievement and a “stopper”‌ for Russia’s‌ opponents.

In ‌his ‍statements quoted ‌by Russian ‌media, he emphasized that Christians should not fear ⁢the end of the world, since their faith is based on the expectation of⁤ the coming of Christ, ⁣who will destroy evil and judge the‌ nations.

Kirill urged not to give ⁣in to fear and panic associated with the nuclear threat. In his opinion, excessive alarmism and discussions of apocalyptic scenarios⁢ only contribute to the manipulation of people deprived‍ of inner spiritual peace. The Patriarch noted‌ that such⁣ anxiety plays into ⁤the hands of the “enemy of the human race,” who ⁣seeks to sow fear in⁢ the⁤ hearts‌ of people.

He also called on⁣ Russians to be⁢ “warriors” by actively opposing⁢ evil and ⁢defending moral ⁢ideals, which he said are Russia’s goal.

However, he did not explain how such ideals relate to⁣ the Kremlin’s actions, including the war ⁣in‌ Ukraine and other⁣ military conflicts started ‍by Russia.

Earlier, Kursor wrote ‌that the ⁣Russian Armed Forces again ⁤shot five captured Ukrainian ⁣Armed Forces soldiers in the Zaporozhye region.

The ⁣Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers who surrendered were shot in the neck, lying unarmed with their hands raised.
