President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky congratulated Jews on the celebration of Hanukkah. This year, he lit the first Hanukkiah candle, which was given to him by Argentine President Javier Miley during his inauguration.

“Today is Christmas and the beginning of Hanukkah. It is very good that in Ukraine we can celebrate such holidays with respect for each other, communicate, live together and wish different people the same victory – the victory of light over darkness. And today I am with the rabbis of Ukraine lit Hanukkah candles. It was this Hanukkah menorah that was presented by the President of Argentina, Javier Miley, during his inauguration last December,” Zelensky noted.

The President of Ukraine also addressed the Jewish community with congratulations, wishing the families peace, joy and prosperity. He noted that the light of Hanukkiah should be lit in every home, giving strength, filling with hope and strengthening faith in truth and justice.
