According to the German Chancellor, the Russian ruler wanted to conquer all of Ukraine and establish a puppet regime there. However, he met such resistance there that it can be considered defeated.
This opinion was expressed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in an interview with T-online.
He also said that Putin wanted to prevent further rapprochement between Kyiv and the EU and weaken NATO.
“Today NATO has two new members – Sweden and Finland. All are investing heavily in defense capability, and almost all NATO countries are achieving the two percent target. Ukraine is a stable state and on its way to the European Union. It has a strong army, equipped by us, which is heroically defending itself against Putin’s troops. Now we are talking about creating the basis for a just and sustainable world,” the politician said.
In his opinion, Ukraine is unlikely to agree to a ceasefire if it cannot count on reliable security guarantees.
“A simple ceasefire is far from a sustainable peace. And I repeat: nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine – that is, we are talking with Ukraine, not about Ukraine.”
Scholz also confirmed that his country will not send troops to the war in Ukraine.
“I will not send a single German soldier to this war. This discussion is very strange when now the discussion is about ensuring that Ukraine does not remain on its own and that we continue to supply weapons. Now it is more important that everyone sees whether they can do more to further support for Ukraine,” summed up the German Chancellor.
Let us remind you that “Cursor” wrote that Russian soldiers, being captured, told how they got to the front.
Kursor also reported that in a conversation dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Ukraine, the heads of foreign affairs departments discussed a number of topical issues. “We discussed current events in the Middle East and Ukraine. Iran poses a threat to both our countries, and I emphasized the importance of recognizing the IRGC as a terrorist organization in the Ukrainian parliament,” Saar said.
