Russian opposition journalist and media expert Igor Yakovenko assessed the likelihood that Russia could start new conflicts and shared his thoughts on the current situation.
“Glavred” writes about this.
According to Yakovenko, much depends on the development of events in the war against Ukraine. He believes that Russia is able to continue hybrid and sabotage actions even against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities.
He includes the actions of sabotage groups, terrorist acts and operations aimed at destabilizing other countries among such methods.
However, the expert emphasized that Russia is not capable of a full-scale war in another region due to a lack of resources. He noted that Russia will not be able to conduct two fronts at the same time, for example, by sending tank columns to Lithuania or Poland.
Instead, he believes, Moscow can focus on smaller-scale but destructive actions, such as undermining infrastructure or disrupting communications.
Thus, according to Yakovenko, Putin’s future tactics are more likely to be aimed at maintaining a hybrid war than at unleashing new major military conflicts.
Earlier, Kursor reported that Putin still intends to “denazify” Ukraine.
The head of the Kremlin wants to please xenophobic sentiments, which have become an important element of domestic politics.
“Kursor” also wrote that Putin answered whether the war in Ukraine will end in the near future.
Putin said that the Russian side does not see the conditions for ending the war.
