Senior Israeli sources have criticized the outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden, saying its policies are preventing victory over the Houthis.

In an interview with the Israeli newspaper Maariv, they noted that, despite the strikes that the United States is inflicting on the Houthis, Washington is limiting the actions of both its own armed forces and the Israeli army. This is manifested in demands to provide humanitarian assistance to Yemeni civilians.

Israeli officials have indicated that the Biden administration’s Yemen policy mirrors its approach to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip during Operation Iron Swords. According to them, by insisting on the delivery of humanitarian aid, the United States is actually helping to strengthen the position of the Houthis, since a significant part of this aid ends up in the hands of the terrorist organization. This strengthens the Houthis’ control over the population, which Israeli sources say is largely tired of their rule and does not support them.

Officials also drew parallels between the leaders of the Houthis and the Palestinian Hamas movement, noting that neither cares about the suffering of civilians.

In addition, Israel accused the United States of refusing to attack the port of Hodeidah, which is an important logistics hub for arms supplies from Iran. In response, Israel independently attacked the port, but only after lengthy coordination with the American military. According to Arab media reports, this strike led to a temporary shutdown of the port.

At the same time, Israeli representatives emphasized that it is their country that bears the main burden and takes retaliatory strikes, despite the restrictions imposed by the United States. They expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that American policies make it difficult to achieve strategic goals in the region.

Earlier, Kursor wrote that the Houthis responded to attempts by the United States and Oman to achieve a cessation of attacks on Israel.

The Houthis are reportedly abandoning mediation efforts and are preparing for escalation.
