Today, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted multiple targeted strikes against two underground Houthi advanced conventional weapons depots in areas controlled by the terrorist organization in Yemen. The Houthis used these facilities to attack U.S. Navy warships and merchant ships in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, according to CENTCOM. There were no casualties among American personnel or damage to equipment.
“These strikes are part of efforts to defeat the Iranian-backed Houthis’ attempts to threaten regional partners and military and commercial vessels in the region,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reported last week that the Houthi leadership in Yemen has moved into underground shelters and is avoiding using cellphones for fear of being attacked by Israel. According to sources close to the organization’s leadership, police commanders frequently change locations and take increased precautions amid Israeli threats to eliminate senior members of the organization.
The Israeli threats come as a result of almost daily Houthi missile attacks on Israel. The attacks force millions of Israelis to take shelter in bomb shelters in the early hours of the morning and disrupt the restoration of international flights into the country.
Earlier, Cursor wrote that the leader of the Israel Our Home party, Avigdor Lieberman, noted that he could help in the fight against Iran and the Houthis.
We also reported that Israel and the United States are preparing a tough response to the Houthis.
