These actions come amid growing pressure on Tehran from all sides. After a series of defeats in the Middle East that destroyed the so-called “Axis of Resistance” that Iran had been building for decades, Tehran is looking for ways to secure its borders.

Of particular concern, as analysts note, is the transformation of Armenia into a base for Western influence.
