Yesterday, the “engines started to heat up,” with a crowd of motorcyclists heading to Quinta do Baião, in Góis, where the largest motorcycle gathering in the Centro region and the second largest in the country after Faro is taking place. A party with a different flavor, on the banks of the Ceira River, a paradise that captivates lovers of two wheels. We are talking about the 31st edition of the event, organized by the Góis Moto Clube, which “has its hands full” to ensure the best reception for the 20,000 to 22,000 motorcyclists coming from all corners of Portugal and also from several European countries, who will turn Góis into their “home” until Sunday.
“It’s all good in Góis” has long been the slogan of this gathering, which seeks to live up to its reputation. This year, there is significantly strengthened logistics in place to ensure an effective and high-quality response. A special highlight, in terms of infrastructure, is the expansion of the camping area along the riverbanks, which now includes an additional three hectares, significantly increasing accommodation capacity.
Nuno Bandeira, president of the Góis Moto Clube, also highlights the enhancement of sanitary facilities and cleaning services, as well as the dining space which, due to the significant turnout, features a “grilled island,” this year with an attached butcher shop and bakery where motorcyclists can shop and immediately prepare their meals. This is in addition to the existing restaurants and stalls.
The stage reserved for concerts has also been renewed, where last night Ruizinho de Penacova, a local artist, Ugly Kid Joe, and DJs Rafael and Vassalo already performed. Concerts are also one of the major attractions of this motorcycle festival, which today features Jabalizes (9:30 PM), Toy (12:30 AM), and DJs DC and Ricardo Melo starting at 2:00 AM. Tomorrow, the highlight belongs to Jorge Palma (11:00 PM), followed by Hybrid Theory, Bad Monkeyz, and DJ Prince Carsane. On Saturday, the show is in the hands of David Antunes & The Midnight Band, followed by Moonspell and DJs Menasso DAS and Vassalo.
