The Ukrainian military captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region, reports the Telegram channel of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

According to Zelensky, the operation to capture prisoners was complex. Russian and North Korean forces routinely finish off their wounded to destroy evidence of North Korean involvement in the fighting against Ukraine. The President expressed gratitude to tactical group No. 84 of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and paratroopers for the successful completion of the mission. Prisoners are provided with all necessary medical care.

Ukrainian troops continue to hold positions in the Kursk region, despite active attempts by Russian troops and North Korean units to recapture the lost territories. On January 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched strikes in several directions, which complicated the enemy’s offensive plans.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence (GUR) reported that North Korean troops were preparing for active assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region. However, according to available data, the position of the North Korean military in the region remains critical. Soldiers face food shortages and complain of poor conditions.

To rectify the situation, Russia sent a general to the region in early December. However, the problems of North Korean troops in the Kursk region remain unresolved, which undermines their combat effectiveness.

Recall that North Korea has introduced strict new restrictions, including a ban on popular fast food and tougher measures for divorcing couples. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered a ban on the sale and preparation of hot dogs, calling them a symbol of Western influence that undermines the country’s cultural traditions. Violation of this prohibition is tantamount to high treason, which threatens the perpetrators with being sent to labor camps.
