The British Daily Mail published an article claiming that after the funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter, President-elect Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama sat next to each other, chatting animatedly and laughing like old friends. The incident sparked controversy given their long history of political differences.

According to the publication, Trump said he needed to share an “urgent secret” with Obama and suggested finding a private place to talk. A lip reader hired by the newspaper partially transcribed their dialogue.

According to the transcript, the conversation began with the usual greetings. Obama said, “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Listen, this is a task.” Trump responded: “Yes, that’s right. I can’t think of any task.” Obama continued: “Maybe even people, even if they’re unhappy… that’s the challenge. Now they can block access. Everything is fine”.

At one point, Trump leaned into Obama’s ear and whispered, “I’m free of this. These are the conditions. Can you imagine this? Obama laughed in response. Trump then added, “Then I’ll do it.” Obama, in turn, asked: “Will you return to the foyer later?” Trump suggested that Obama call when he arrived at the entrance, and stressed that they need to find a quiet place to talk. “This is an important matter. Definitely today,” Trump said.

Photos of their conversation instantly spread across the media and social networks, causing confusion and a wave of speculation. After all, publicly, Trump and Obama have always been political antagonists.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump commented on the situation, calling the conversation with Obama “very friendly.” He added:

“I didn’t expect it to look so warm. Online we look like a loving couple. Maybe this really is so”

Earlier, “Cursor” reported that Trump was sentenced in the case of money to actress Stormy Daniels.
