During the festive long weekend, which coincides with Mother’s Day, a significant flow of mobility is expected in the main land transport terminals in Colombia, 31 checkpoints will be established in 26 road sections in 16 departments.

The Directorate of Transit and Transportation will have 5,050 uniformed personnel nationwide, supported by the corresponding departments and specialties. In addition, 110 prevention areas will be established throughout the national territory, where educational activities aimed at users will be carried out.

The National Road Safety Agency and the 33 departmental Traffic and Transportation sections will collaborate in checkpoints at the national level, focused on pedagogy, monitoring and control tasks to reduce road accidents. Special attention will be paid to controlling excessive speed, drunk driving, technical-mechanical review and document verification.

ANI will deploy more than 2,800 ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) devices in projects that include variable messaging panels, toll booths enabled with electronic payment, surveillance cameras, dynamic and static scales, SOS posts and Control and Operation Centers (CCO). ). These centers will have more than 1,408 cameras strategically located in road corridors, as well as 1,298 SOS posts and more than 54 speed meters to monitor the situation in real time.

More than 3,500,000 vehicles are estimated on the exodus and return road corridors. The deployment of this complete plan seeks to guarantee the safety and well-being of all citizens traveling on the country’s roads during these holidays.
