Through the participation of 1,748 people who ran in the latest edition of the Bimbo Global Race in Ecuador, it was not only possible to create a stage for sport and a healthy lifestyle, but also to collect 35,940 slices of bread that will be donated to the Diakonia Food Bank, whose aid will reach approximately 12,000 beneficiaries in vulnerable situations in the country.
At a global level, the donation reached 2.2 million slices of bread, to which the 114,226 athletes who participated in the race simultaneously in 34 countries contributed, with the aim that each kilometer traveled was a step towards the Solidarity.
“Our work in Ecuador is based on our purpose of positively impacting the communities we reach. For this reason, the Bimbo Global Race is a commitment to the promotion of sport, while at the same time it is an invitation to solidarity with those who need it most. Donating food is part of our commitment to impact the improvement of people’s quality of life,” said Randall Quesada, general manager of Bimbo Ecuador.
