To Australia illegally
The Navy today (Sunday) arrested 36 people aboard a motor boat bound for Australia in the Southeast Sea.
A boat bound for Australia was intercepted by the navy this morning while patrolling the high seas this morning, when it was revealed that 36 people, including 6 boys and 6 girls, had gone illegally.
Presence in court
Following this, the boat was taken to the Valaichenai naval base in Negombo and Jaffna. According to the police, the suspects are from Batticaloa area.
Ampara police said that steps have been taken to bring them before the court.
