Data for Sunday 24 October. The positivity rate rises slightly to 0.9% (yesterday 0.8%) with 403,715 swabs. Admissions: +18. Intensive care: +3

I am 3,725 new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 3,908, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.741.185 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 24 (yesterday there were 39), for a total of 131,826 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.534.584 e 2.940 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (3,579 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 74.775, equal to +759 compared to yesterday (+287 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 403.715, or 87,859 less than yesterday when there were 491,574. While the the rate of positivity rises slightly to 0.9
% (the approximation of 0.92%); yesterday it was 0.8%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.

Less infections in 24 hours than yesterday. It happens every Sunday, due to fewer tampons. As usual, today the curve moves downwards and then touches the minimum point of its swing on Monday (due to the few swabs, ie those processed during the holiday). Despite the slight deterioration (+2,437 cases were recorded last Sunday), probably due to the large amount of analysis *, we are in a containment situation that experts still define as favorable.

There are two regions above 400 new infected: this is the Campania which communicates +467 cases with a rate of 2.2% calculated on 20,902 swabs and del Lazio which reports +459 cases with a rate of 1.7%. To have processed the most tests of the day there Lombardy
which thanks to over 94 thousand swabs has identified +393 positives (rate 0.4%), followed by Veneto who performed almost 74 thousand swabs and found +398 positives (rate 0.5%). The lowest data, relative to single-digit increases, are found in Sardinia (+5 cases with 5,668 tests), Molise (+4 cases with 505 tests) and Valle d’Aosta (+3 cases with 2,079 tests).

The victims

Victims are decreasing: they are 24 against 39 yesterday. But we know that some facilities do not update the deaths data over the weekend as a result this number may be incomplete. To have zero bereavement are nine regions, to which are added the provinces of Trento and Bolzano. While the highest number of deaths in Sicily (7 *) and Lombardy (4).

The health system

The number of hospitalizations in each area is growing slightly. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m +18 (yesterday +12), for a total of 2,473 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are +3 (yesterday -5) – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU -, bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 341, with 18 entrances to resuscitation (yesterday 20).

I vaccinate

The vaccine doses administered are over 88,6 millions. Citizens who have completed the vaccination cycle are over 44,3 millions (82,10% of the population over 12). 46.4 million people (86.01% of vaccinables) have received at least one single dose. Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
