Delhi: Hyundai, which is the 2nd largest car seller in India, has sold 5,52,511 cars in 2022.
* Sales of Hyundai cars increased by 9.4 percent to 5,52,511 in 2022 from 5,05,033 in 2021.
* Kia India, which is focusing on SUV models, has increased its sales by 40.2 percent in 2022.
* Sales of Kia cars increased from 1,81,583 in 2021 to 2,54,556 in 2022.
* Sales of Toyota Kirloskar motor cars increased from 1,30,768 in 2021 to 1,60,357 in 2022.
* Sales of Honda cars rose to 95,022 from 89,152 and Skoda sold to 53,271 from 23,853.
Tata Motors sales up 58 percent:
Among Indian automakers, Tata Motors’ car sales rose 58.2 percent in 2022 over 2021. The sales of Tata Motors cars increased from 3,32,190 in 2021 to 5,26,798 in 2022. Maruti Suzuki, the country’s top selling car, has seen a 15.4 percent increase in sales in 2022. The company informed that the sales of Maruti cars increased from 13,68,393 in 2021 to 15,79,562 in 2022.
38 lakh car sales record in 2022:
In India, 37 lakh 93 thousand cars will be sold in 2022 and a record has been set in the automobile industry. The record number of 33.8 lakh cars in 2018 has also surpassed the car sales of 2022. Compared to the total sales of 30.8 lakh cars in 2021, car sales in 2022 increased by 23.1 percent. In 2021, sales also declined as car production was affected by a semiconductor shortage. As semiconductor supply stabilizes in 2022, production and sales of cars are up significantly from the previous year.
