The data for Saturday 23 October. The positive rate is stable at 0.8% (yesterday 0.8%) with 491,574 swabs. The trend has been decreasing for five days, while remaining below 4 thousand. Admissions: +12. Intensive care: -5
I am 3,908 new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 3,882, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.737.462 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 39 (yesterday there were 39), for a total of 131,802 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.531.644 e 3.579 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (3,861 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 74.016, equal to +287 compared to yesterday (-21 the day before).
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 491.574, or 4,356 less than yesterday when there were 487,218. While the rate of positivity steady at
0,8% (the approximation of 0.79%); yesterday it was 0.8%, Thursday it was 0.7% and Wednesday it was 0.8%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday. Comparing with last Saturday – the same day of the week -, when +2,983 cases were recorded, we see that there are more new infections than that day. The trend of the five-day flexing curve is probably because more tests are done, but we are still below the threshold of 4 thousand (tomorrow we should have fewer cases due to fewer tests, as always on holidays). We are containing the contagion, much better than other countries (see UK). At the moment. There is a small turnaround, but the trend of the epidemic is favorable, said yesterday Gianni Rezza, director general of prevention at the ministry of health.
Three regions over 400 new infected. I’m the Veneto which communicates +457 cases with a rate of 0.5% calculated on over 86 thousand swabs, the Campania which marks +448 cases with a rate of 1.9% and the Lazio which records +423 cases with a 1.3% rate. To have processed the largest number of regional analyzes of the day there Lombardy which thanks to over 100 thousand swabs has identified +390 positives (rate 0.4%). The lowest data are from Molise and Valle d’Aosta, both with a single-digit increase (respectively they have 4 and 8 new positives), and no deaths for some time.
The death toll is always stable: there are 39, the same number as yesterday. But the regions with zero bereavement are growing: there are eight, to which are added the provinces of Trento and Bolzano. These are Veneto, Puglia, Liguria, Abruzzo, Umbria, Sardinia, Basilicata, Molise and Valle d’Aosta. While the highest number of deaths in Lazio (6), Sicily (6 *), Campania (5) and Tuscany (5).
The health system
For the second consecutive day, the ordinary hospitalizations increase slightly and those in the critical area decrease. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m +12 (yesterday +4), for a total of 2,455 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are -5 (yesterday -13) – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU -, bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 338, with 20 admissions to resuscitation (yesterday 22).
The vaccine doses administered are over 88,5 millions. Citizens who have completed the vaccination cycle are over 44,2 millions (81,99% of the population over 12). 46.4 million people (85.97% of vaccinables) have received at least one single dose. Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
