jpnn.com – PALANGKA RAYA – As many as four areas in Central Kalimantan are prone to forest and land fires (karhutla).

For this reason, the Central Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalteng) is paying special attention to the four areas in question.

According to the Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Erlan Munaji, the four areas that are of special concern to the Central Kalimantan Regional Police are Palangka Raya City, Pulang Pisau Regency, East Kotawaringin and the West Kotawaringin area.

“We instructed the police down to the police station level to always coordinate with all stakeholders in their respective regions with the aim of collaborating to anticipate forest and land fires,” said Erlan Munaji in Palangka Raya, Wednesday (24/7).

The three-star Polri officer emphasized that his staff were also asked to immediately prepare personnel and equipment related to handling forest and land fires, so that when problems arise they can be handled properly.

Erlan further said that the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Djoko Poerwanto, is also committed to ensuring that forest and land fires do not occur again in his jurisdiction like in previous years.

Therefore, prevention and anticipation efforts continue to be prioritized so that problems do not actually occur.

“Currently, personnel in the field from the village, sub-district to district levels in Central Kalimantan have also implemented anticipation so that forest and land fires do not occur in their respective areas. Hopefully, with these efforts, forest and land fires in Central Kalimantan will really not occur this year,” he said.

As many as four areas in Central Kalimantan are prone to forest and land fires, therefore special attention is needed.
