Police have arrested four people, including a 10-year-old boy, in connection with the murder of Special Assistant Inspector Bhuminathan by goat thieves.

Bhuminathan, a special assistant inspector at the Trichy Nawalpattu police station, was hacked to death early Sunday morning in a ravine near Keeranur in the Pudukkottai district while chasing goat thieves in a two-wheeler.

4 special forces were set up to arrest the culprits in the incident. The police examined the details of the cell phones near Bhuminathan in the border areas of Trichy and Pudukkottai districts through the cell phone signal.

In this, the personnel personally investigated the numbers of some people belonging to the Togur area near the Tanjore district fort. Police rounded up four people, including a 10-year-old boy, early Monday morning.

Police have also seized the knives used to kill their two-wheelers. The detainees are said to be currently being held in Trichy for questioning. The culprits are expected to be produced before the Keeranur Criminal Arbitration Court on Monday afternoon.
