Approved applicants under direction 2 of the “National scheme for supporting households in the field of energy from renewable sources” of the National plan for recovery and sustainability can receive loans without self-participation with a repayment term of up to 5 years and a one-year grace period. This was announced by the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB).
The loans are granted by four commercial banks – “Bulgarian-American Credit Bank” (BACB), “Investbank”, “Municipal Bank” and “Commercial Bank D” and are guaranteed by BBR.
Citizens who applied for a grant to replace solid fuel sources (stove, boiler, fireplace or other) with renewable ones can use targeted lending under preferential conditions, with which to finance the upcoming activities of delivery, installation and commissioning of their facilities.
Banks will grant loans of up to BGN 22,000 for the installation of photovoltaic systems up to 10 kWp and electrical energy storage systems (batteries), as well as up to BGN 3,000 for solar installations for domestic hot water supply.
The total resource of the measure is BGN 14 million and aims to accelerate household investments in renewable sources under the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability, the BBR adds.
The promotional bank signed guarantee agreements with the four banks in April to finance households investing in renewable energy.
The requirement for the applicants is to have signed a contract for free financing under the Procedure “National scheme for supporting households in the field of energy from renewable sources”, implemented by the Ministry of Energy.
The BDB announced the launch of the programme, to support households transitioning from using solid fuels to using renewable energy in their homes, at the end of September 2023. Banks wishing to join the program had until October 26 to apply. writes BTA.
