4 houses in Mattukalapu Police Station and Kathankudi Police Station were broken into on the same day at 9 o’clock and 28 pounds of gold ornaments and 2 lakh 83 thousand rupees of money, a computer and a watch were stolen from there on Saturday 29th, the respective divisional police said.

Thieves broke the window and stole 8 and a half pounds of gold ornaments and 33,000 rupees from a house in Talanguda area of ​​Kathankudi Police Division on Saturday morning when the owner of the house was fast asleep.

In this situation, a woman living alone in a house in Rasadurai village in Arayampadi area of ​​the said police division locked her house at 9.00 am yesterday and went to the market to buy things and when she came back home at 10 am, they broke the door of the house and stole 5 pounds of gold ornaments and 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees.

Following this, while the owner of a house in Bharti Road, Batticaloa Police Division was in the hospital, his wife locked the house at 12.00 to give him lunch and went to the hospital and returned home at 12.45.

Subsequently, the owner of a house in Barveedi locked the house at 8 am on the day of the incident and left his wife to work and went to her vegetable plantation farm.

In relation to these theft incidents, thieves have been reported in Sisiri Kamara in those areas and they have been identified and these 4 house breaking incidents were carried out by thieves belonging to the same group, police said.

Meanwhile, after locking the house on the 27th to see the mother of the owner of a house at Navarkeni 3 Cross Street in Mattu Kokuvil Police Division, Kudumbasakitam went to the mother’s house on the 27th, and when he returned home during the day yesterday on the 29th, the thieves broke through the roof of the house and entered the house by breaking the roof and took two talik flags weighing 3 pounds each and 6 pounds from the cupboard.
