4% indigenization in private schools too

Abu Dhabi: Privatization is also being implemented in private schools in the UAE. The Ministry of Education has directed schools in the UAE to implement 4% indigenization by the end of the year. Officials clarified that the requirement to appoint 2% natives per year in expert posts in private sector institutions with more than 50 employees is applicable to all private schools in the country.

The Ministry of Manpower Indigenization has announced that they are providing training to Swadeshi teachers to teach Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies subjects. The authorities also pointed out that if teachers are not available, natives can be appointed to other posts in the school.

Due to the unavailability of teachers with sufficient qualifications and work experience, some schools employed natives in receptionist, secretarial and data entry positions.
