CHENNAI–Dharmapuri district police arrested a woman accused who was wanted for four years at the Chennai airport.
Jakathampal, 66, hails from Krishnapuram area of Dharmapuri district. In 2018, the Krishnapuram police registered a case against him under various sections including assault with a deadly weapon, rioting, and attempt to murder.
Dharmapuri District Superintendent of Police declared Jagathamba as a wanted criminal. In this situation, he arrived in Chennai early yesterday morning by Emirates flight from New York City, United States of America, via Dubai. At the airport, the citizenship officials examined Jakathampal’s documents. Then, it came to know that he was wanted by the Dharmapuri district police. After this, the resident authorities detained Jagadhampal and informed the Dharmapuri police. Later, he was handed over to the Chennai airport police by the citizenship authorities.
