Ecuador has added six new athletes qualified in the disciplines of Athletics. These athletes, who have secured their places thanks to their position in the world ranking of their respective disciplines, raised the total of the Ecuadorian delegation to 40 representatives.
The news was announced by the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE) through its social networks, highlighting that World Athletics was the body in charge of making the classifications official. The qualified athletes are Ángela Tenorio, Nicole Caicedo, Aimara Nazareno, Anahí Suárez, Paula Torres and Juan Caicedo.
Angela Tenorio will compete in the 100-meter dash, a race in which she has demonstrated her speed and skill. Nicole Caicedo will participate in the 200 and 400 meters, disciplines in which she has shown consistency and endurance. Aimara Nazareno and Anahí Suárez will also compete in the 200 meters, bringing their talent to a demanding test for the Ecuadorian team. Paula Torres will run in the 20-kilometer walk, a discipline that requires endurance and technique, while Juan Caicedo will be present in the discus throw, a test of strength and precision.
