The Municipal Regional Theater of Ioannina completes forty years of creation this year and will celebrate it with a four-day anniversary event from April 27 to 30.
The beginning takes place on Thursday, April 27 (18.00-20.00) with the workshop “We left for a show!”. “Do you like to write texts? Do you like reading plays and imagining them on stage? Do you like watching shows? In “We left for a show!” you can write, imagine and watch your own unique show. Discover the creator you hide inside you!”, says a text about the workshop. Those interested in watching the process of creating a play can be at the Kamperio theater at 6 pm. At the same time, they can tour the foyer of the theater and the dressing rooms, to see programs, posters and photos from DIPETHE Ioannina performances from 1983 until today. They will also be able to try dishes from the buffet prepared by IEK DELTA’s culinary department. No seat reservation required.
The second act is a titled game night “Tonight we play!”, on Friday, April 28, at 9 p.m. “Have you ever wondered how many projects DIPETHE has uploaded? No; The day has come for you to learn! We love games, we love quizzes, and on April 28th we’ll be counting points from 9pm until late! If you want to play with us, reveal your knowledge, guess, take risks, play pantomime and learn new information about the theater and the DIPETHE of Ioannina, register your participation by emailing [email protected], until April 23, with title “I WANT TO PLAY”, writing us your name and phone number. The only requirement is to be over 18 years old. A limited number of places for players,” the invitation to participate states. The public can also watch the game night on the stage of the Camperio, without needing to reserve a seat.
On Saturday, April 29, the program includes two actions. The first has a title “Games on the stage of the Camperios” and is aimed at children and teenagers. From 111 am to 1 pm 5-12 year olds will participate in a construction workshop and a process of reconstruction – recreating an 80s – 90s poster and recreating a costume from recycled materials. The teenagers will follow, from 1.30 to 3 in the afternoon, with pantomime and improvisations, images and videos from DIPETHE’s performances that were staged 5, 10, 20 or even 30 years ago. Saturday’s second action has a title “Talk Show: One night for the DIPETHE of Ioannina” and also takes place at the Kamperio Theater, with a starting time of 9.15 in the evening.
It is an evening dedicated to the 40 years of operation of DIPETHE Ioannina, in a festive review from 1983 until today. “40 years of the Municipal Regional Theater of Ioannina means rich theatrical production, collaborations with artists, endless creation, inspiration and dedication to the art of theater. This evening we are talking to people who have worked at DIPETHE Ioannina, we remember moments from other decades, and we come a little closer to our theater”, it is stated in a note about the evening, in which the Adult Department of the Amateur Stage of DIPETHE Ioannina will also participate . The four-day event concludes on Sunday, April 30, at 7 pm, with the “Improvisation Competitions”. Two teams of players, ready to improvise until the final drop! For each improvisation the teams will have four elements in their hands, which they will choose at random: number of players, title, type and duration of improvisation. A referee will stand between them to ensure the rules are followed. The audience is in for a surprise role.
