According to information from RGE (Rio Grande Energia), 272 thousand customers are still without electricity. Among those served by CEEE Equatorial, the situation of 414 thousand was normalized to 140 thousand.

The largest number of people affected in Rio Grande do Sul are in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre (170 thousand), Taquari Valley (27 thousand), Vale do Rio Pardo (23 thousand), central region (19 thousand) and Vale dos Sinos (9 thousand); according to RGE. The concessionaire also said that supply was restored to 62% of customers who were left without power.

CEEE Equatorial said it has resumed supply to 76.8% of those affected. “Teams from other states in the Equatorial Group are already in the state to accelerate total normalization,” said the concessionaire on social media. “Our teams remain committed to restoring 100% of power supply.”

In total, 51 cities reported damage caused by the storm, according to the State Civil Defense. Some cities in Rio Grande do Sul recorded 100 millimeters (mm) of rain and wind gusts of more than 100 km/h. One man died as a result of the incidents.

According to a new alert from National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the cyclone that hit Rio Grande do Sul this week is expected to affect the Southeast over the weekend, mainly São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
