Choa, a former member of group AOA, expressed her satisfaction with her YouTube earnings.
On the 30th, a video titled ‘Something’s Missing Mille-feuille Nabe Made by Choa | Choa’s Makase’ was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Jipyeonhansesang’.
Choa said, “I actually took a break from broadcasting for about 3 years. I didn’t take a break because I wanted to, I just left. I thought of leaving the group as just quitting my company, my job. I think people saw the team as a family.”
Ji Seok-jin said, “The fans must have cursed. I didn’t curse. I cheered. From the perspective of the average person, Cho-ah is such a variety character and does well on broadcasts, so why is she leaving? To be honest, I think, ‘What’s the problem?'” Cho-ah replied, “I was the problem. It was my heart.”
Choa revealed about her current situation, “When I left the group, I thought I wanted to do something of my own, but I got cursed at more than I expected. I was already having a hard time mentally, so I spent about three years lying down.”
Ji Seok-jin said, “I guess I was hit by malicious comments. I think there are more people who support me. That’s because only a small number of people are cursing and writing malicious comments. But those people are combative. That’s why they seem to be so many. And the world doesn’t have the leisure to curse like that.”
He continued, “‘Running Man’ ran for 14 years. There were some friends who left in the middle. Those friends didn’t leave because they had problems with the other members. They left to pursue their own dreams.”
Choa said, “I’m a variety show character and I was the main vocalist.” Ji Seok-jin asked, “I know. You also released a solo song, right?”
Then Choa said, “No. I haven’t been able to release a proper solo album. I only did the OSTs and project albums that were requested, and when I came back, I released a single song, but now I want to do it properly.”
Ji Seok-jin said, “She sings well. Choa is actually the main vocalist, but in a way, not releasing an album is a waste of talent,” and asked about her dreams.
Choa said, “I think it’s become certain. I want to do well in solo music activities, which I haven’t been able to do in the past 5 years. I don’t think there are many people who have established themselves as artists after finishing their idol activities. So I want to try to become one of them. My goal in my heart is to definitely release something this year.”
He said, “You must have gone through a lot,” in response to Ji Seok-jin’s consolation, “Because of that process, I gained a lot of subscribers when I started YouTube. I have about 420,000 subscribers. It’s only been a month since I opened the channel, but I already have 300,000 subscribers. It gave me a lot of courage.”
He continued, “At a point when I was giving up on getting back to work, I thought, ‘It might be okay to just try YouTube,’ and thankfully, a broadcasting station called me. It’s no exaggeration to say that I make a living through YouTube. In fact, I think I earn more than I did when I was in AOA.”
