Chief Minister MK Stalin has demanded that action be taken to release Tamil Nadu fishermen held captive by the Sri Lankan Navy.

The Sri Lankan navy has captured 55 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were fishing in the Bay of Bengal, claiming they were fishing across the border. They also confiscated their keyboards.
Political leaders have been urging the central government to take action to release fishermen and their boats captured by the Sri Lankan navy.
Meanwhile, 43 fishermen from Rameswaram arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy have been remanded in custody till December 31. The order was issued by Kayts Magistrate Gajanithibalan.
