In the nearly year-long attacks on the Israel-Lebanon border, such a large number of victims was never seen before.

Two rescuers were among the dead, and 16 emergency services workers were injured, Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad said.

Two ambulances, one fire truck and a medical center were damaged in the strikes, Abiad said.

In less than a week, 5,000 people were injured in Israeli attacks.

That’s about half of the total 10,000 to 11,000 wounded in Lebanon during the nearly year-long Israeli-Lebanese cross-border strikes that began with the Gaza war, Lebanon’s health minister said.

Israel carried out hundreds of airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army on Monday called on the Lebanese to leave the vicinity of the facilities associated with the Shiite armed group “Hezbollah”.

According to a statement by the Israeli army, 1,300 targets linked to Hezbollah were struck on Monday. It said it was expanding the operation to include areas in the Bekaa Valley along Lebanon’s eastern border.

Thousands of people have fled southern Lebanon, blocking the main highway to Beirut.

The wave of airstrikes began a day after Hezbollah fired more than 100 rockets into northern Israel, some of which landed near the city of Haifa.
