The San Francisco 49ers’ Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at Levi’s Stadium has officially been scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PST on Sunday, Jan. 7, the NFL announced on Sunday night.
With the 49ers securing the NFC’s No. 1 playoff seed after their 27-10 win over the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles’ loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Week 18 matchup holds less significance for San Francisco. It is unclear which 49ers’ starters will rest, but with the first-round bye secured, most are unlikely to play in the regular-season finale.
The Rams secured their spot in the playoffs with a 26-25 win over the New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks’ 30-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They will either be the NFC’s No. 6 or 7 seed and are expected to play most, if not all, of their starters against the 49ers in an effort to improve their seeding.
