Rabat – On the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, at the head of a large military delegation, co-chaired with the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Wednesday in Nouakchott, the 4th meeting of the Moroccan-Mauritanian Joint Military Commission.

This meeting, the fourth of its kind, aims to strengthen bilateral military cooperation in the various areas of joint training and education, indicates a press release from the General Staff of the FAR.

During this meeting, the Inspector General of the FAR welcomed the excellence of Moroccan-Mauritanian cooperation and its positive results in the field of security and defense while stressing the need to consolidate the exchange of experience and expertise between the two armed forces and thus contribute to security and stability in the region. This meeting was also an opportunity for the two parties to jointly schedule activities for the year 2024, underlines the same source.

Military cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania is governed by a memorandum of understanding that established the Joint Military Commission for the consolidation of bilateral relations in the field of defense, the press release concludes.
