5 Israeli Citizens Injured in Accident Near Taba Crossing, Egypt

Thursday’s accident near the Taba crossing in Egypt has left five Israeli citizens injured, with their conditions ranging from mild to moderate. A rescue union medic who was present at the scene provided initial medical treatment, and later Egyptian ambulance teams evacuated the wounded to Israel.

Elhanan Marcianoff, a volunteer paramedic at the rescue union, came across the accident while returning to Israel from his vacation in Egypt. He stated, “I encountered an accident involving two shuttle vehicles. Among the injured, there were five minor to moderate injuries. I provided first aid with the help of Egyptian ambulance teams, and at this moment, the evacuation of the injured in ambulances towards Israel begins.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Israeli consul in Egypt has been updated on the car accident near the Taba crossing, which involved Israeli family members. Currently, the injured are receiving treatment on the Egyptian side of the crossing, and their condition is yet to be known.

Later developments revealed that all five wounded individuals have been transported to Israel and evacuated to Yoseftal Hospital. MDA medics and paramedics attended to the injured at the Taba crossing near Eilat. The victims were identified as a man and a woman, approximately 40 years old, and their three children aged 8, 11, and 13.

The details regarding the cause of the accident are still unknown, and further investigation is underway. The Israeli consulate in Egypt will continue to monitor the situation and provide necessary assistance to the affected individuals.
