Five people have been killed after a ship collided with a tourist boat in Bangladesh.
The tourist boat was carrying passengers on the Shidalakshya River near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. More than 100 passengers are said to have boarded the boat since Sunday was a holiday yesterday. The cargo ship Ruboshi-9 suddenly collided with the cruise ship. The passengers on the boat were shocked and some jumped into the water to save their lives. But the cargo ship came too fast and the ship sank before everyone could jump.
Its captain tries to stop the cargo ship when the passengers start screaming what to do. But it was only after the boat was dragged a few meters and completely submerged that the ship was able to stand still. Some people on the ship, which was passing nearby, filmed the shocking incident and shared it on social media. Police said they recovered the bodies of five people, including a man, three women and a child. A search is underway for 22 people who have been stranded.
