jpnn.com – PARIS – Japanese women’s doubles Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida are the fifth finalists at the French Open 2024 Super 750.
The Sakura Country duo, ranked sixth in the world, reached the final after defeating the third ranked Chinese in the world, Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning.
In the match at Arena Porte de la Chapelle, Paris, Saturday (9/3) evening WIB, Nami/Chiharu won in straight games 21-15, 21-19.
This result makes the head to head record 3-1, Nam/Chiharu are ahead.
In tomorrow’s final, Nami/Chiharu will face the winner of the doubles battle between world number one Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan (China) versus world number eight Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara (Japan).
Before Nami/Chiharu, the players (singles/doubles) who also secured final tickets were women’s singles An Se Young (Korea) and Akane Yamaguchi (Japan) and two mixed doubles, namely Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung (Korea) and Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping (China).
