Five villages in Spain that were submerged about 30 years ago have reappeared as a result of drought.
The dam’s hydroelectric power station, built across the river Limia, closed the dam’s in 1992, submerging five villages, including Aceredo in the province of Ourense. The villagers raised the banner that they could not leave their homes as the government had ordered the people in these villages to leave.
Their attempt was in vain and they vacated the location and left. In this case, the roofs of most of the houses in the re-emerged villages have been damaged, leaving the walls intact, making it look like a haunted area.
