jpnn.comJAKARTA – Actor Gading Marten will star in the latest Vidio original series entitled Menduda.
Directed by Eman Pradipta and written by Salman Aristo, Menduda will take the audience on an emotional journey of a man facing the bitter reality after his divorce.
Gading Marten, who plays the character Dimas, revealed that the series reflects a lot about his life as a widower after separating from his ex-partner in 2019.
“There are many moments in this story that are very close to my personal experience. The first time it was offered, I immediately laughed. After it was offered, we (Gading and Salman Aristo) even started talking about my experience as a widower,” said Gading Marten.
“So there is a little insight from my personal experience here, I feel happy because I know that when Salman came up with this idea, the first name that came to his mind was me,” continued the 42-year-old actor.
Salman Aristo said the initial inspiration for Menduda came from the success of the Korean drama that went viral in 2020, The World of Married.
“If the drama tells about the suffering of separation from the female perspective, I wanted to create a story of separation from the male perspective. It turns out that men suffer just as much as women when they have to separate and live life as widowers,” explained Salman Aristo.
Widower tells the story of Dimas (Gading Marten) and Desi’s (Niken Anjani) marriage which ended in the fifteenth year.
