50 years ago, in the heart of the Olympic village, Israeli athletes were taken hostage by a Palestinian commando before being massacred a few hours later. This September 5, 1972, Guy Drut, who will be Olympic champion in the 110m hurdles four years later in Montreal, was in the front row. The next day, the future IOC member was due to compete in his 110m hurdles final to leave Bavaria with a silver medal. He was 22 years old. Half a century later, he remembers.
