500 MW stop at Vallur Dinamalar

Chennai: 500 MW power generation has been stopped at Valluar Thermal Power Station in Thiruvallur.
At Vallur in Tiruvallur district, the National Thermal Power Corporation has set up a thermal power plant in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. There, power is generated in three units of 500 MW capacity each. From that, 1,060 megawatts of electricity is allotted to Tamil Nadu every day. Meanwhile, in the first unit of Valluar power station, due to ‘boiler tube puncture’, power generation of 500 megawatts has been stopped since last night.
