I’m 5.143 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 5,057, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.307.535 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 17 (yesterday there were 15), for a total of 127,937 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.120.846 e 1.239 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (1,483 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 58.752, equal to 3.886 more than yesterday (+3.558 the day before).
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 237.635, or 17,857 more than yesterday when it was 219,778. While the rate of positivity 2,2% (the approximation of 2.16%); yesterday it was 2.3%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, above the 5,000 threshold for the second consecutive day, with the case-to-test ratio changing little, settling at 2.2% against the previous 2.3%. The trend remains on the rise. The Rt index moves from 0.91 to 1.26: the first time it returns above 1 since March 26 and is projecting towards 1.55 for the next week. While the incidence doubles, from 19 to 40 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The municipalities with at least one case of Covid grow from 2267 to 2958 – explains ISS president Silvio Brusaferro, illustrating the weekly report – but the impact on hospitals is limited. The median age of infection is lowering to 25, hence the younger population feeding the new cases. Furthermore, the share of the Delta variant is increasing and the Alfa variant is progressively decreasing.
Health Minister Roberto Speranza renews the invitation not to let your guard down: The Covid numbers that are reported to us by the vast majority of European countries and regions are growing again. Italy is trying to implement a virus containment strategy at this stage, which differs from the previous ones for one basic element, namely a significant presence of vaccines available.
There are 14 regions with a three-digit increase in infected (while yesterday they were 11). The Lazio has a greater number of new positives: here there are +854 cases, of which 544 are in Rome, with a rate of 2.8%, calculated with over 30,000 swabs, which is higher than the national one. Above 600 follows: Lombardy (+691 cases with 1.9% rate, here the bulletin) e Veneto (+669 cases with a 1.7% rate thanks to over 38,000 swabs, which is the highest number of regional tests of the day).
The saddest figure is stable, that of the victims: 17 deaths, two more than yesterday. With 13 regions that record zero bereavement, to which are added the provinces of Trento and Bolzano. While the highest number of deaths in Campania (7, of which 5 died in the last 48 hours and 2 previously, as explained in the note **) is Calabria (5). Below is the detail.
The health system
Ordinary hospitalizations are increasing and those in the critical area are decreasing. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m +70 (yesterday +38), for a total of 1,304 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are -3 – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered IT – (yesterday 0), bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 155, with 10 entrances to resuscitation (yesterday 12). It should be noted that four regions – Friuli, Basilicata, Molise and Valle d’Aosta – and also the provinces of Trento and Bolzano, have completely empty ICUs, as shown in the table below.
The vaccine doses administered are over 64.1 million. Citizens who have completed the vaccination cycle are more than 29.1 million (54.06% of the population over 12). Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
