by time news

BarcelonaWith the arrival of summer, the sector of the traveltech returns strongly. The start-up barcelonina 51Trips, dedicated to travel albums and born in 2020 in the midst of a pandemic, has now launched the first application to build albums in real time, so that the user can edit the album while traveling. The company, led by Roger Planas and Armand Dalmau, is running an active round of financing that currently exceeds 400,000 euros.

This new product is called the Trip Book and aims to “perpetuate the magic of traveling from travel albums made on the spot and in a collaborative way,” explains Planas, the company’s CEO. Through the application, all members of the trip can upload photos of each day and add comments about the experiences. “Many times the photos are forgotten on the phone because no one wants to do this job alone at home after the trip, and with Trip Books we get that not to happen,” Planas explains.

The application allows you to make the entire album from the phone itself and preview it. Once finished, the user can buy it in physical format and it will arrive at his home in a few days. Being on-demand printing, the company achieves great operational scalability because it offers printing points around the world and is shipped to any point on the planet.

Growth plans

51Trips was born with an initial investment of 28,000 euros from the pockets of the two entrepreneurs in full covid, initially making physical travel notebooks. The proposal gained many followers especially on social media and in 2021 billed 200,000 euros with the notebooks alone. In terms of funding, in 2020 it raised a round of 122,000 euros, last March one of 105,000 and now has another in progress that already exceeds 400,000 euros.

The company’s future plans are based on consolidating in Spain, Italy and France, where they already have business, and entering Latin America at the end of 2022. Looking ahead to 2023, they expect to turn over 2 million euros and complete the expansion especially Europe.

The founders say that the future of travel is sustainable tourism, and in the future their idea is to go here: “We want to be able to accompany the traveler throughout the phase of the trip, from planning to development of the memory, and always with an eco-sustainable look “, explains Planas. At the moment, the company spends 1% of its income to collaborate with social projects supporting small organizations that work with this goal.
