Thus, folk troupes dressed in their most beautiful outfits took turns occupying the stage specially set up for this festival, the time to gratify the public with choreographic dances mixed with songs performed, brilliantly, and giving rise to wonderful, highly synchronized gestural exchanges between artists.

For almost two hours, visitors to this historic space were invited on a true journey through the magic and splendor of the Kingdom’s popular arts.

The public was able to enjoy artistic shows rich in musical colors and folk dances presented by troupes representing various regions of the Kingdom. A friendly and festive atmosphere, even tempting and unique, to which the other shows which daily take over the esplanade of this “Place Monde” have also contributed.

In a statement to MAP on this occasion, Mohamed El Malali, Moqqadem of a troop of Ahidous from the Middle Atlas, said he was happy with the first participation of his troop in the FNAP, to which he wished them more success during future editions.

Mr. El Malali did not fail to highlight the good organization of the festival, noting that the organizers spared no effort to guarantee the reception and accommodation of the artists participating in the festival in better conditions;

And he continued that he always aspired to participate in the FNAP, a major event bringing together the different folklore troupes and the various popular arts which abound in the regions of the Kingdom.

“The Ahidous Troupe of the Middle Atlas combines, in its artistic performances, dance and rhymed poetry, as an expression of the traditions and customs which characterize the province of Khénifra and illustrates the richness of its cultural heritage,” he explained.

In a similar statement, Mustafa Fathi, director of the shows scheduled on the stage of Jemaâ Fna square, indicated that the organization of the FNAP represents an opportunity to boost the cultural animation of the Ocher City, through folk rhythms in general.

“The 53rd edition of the FNAP was a success in terms of organization, thanks to a strategy aimed at setting up panoramic scenes in places expected to attract a large number of residents and visitors to the Ocher City, among fans of different Moroccan folk rhythms”, he added, noting that the festival represents a suitable opportunity for foreign tourists to discover more of the rich heritage of Morocco and its diverse cultures.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 53rd edition of FNAP sees the participation of around 700 artists representing authentic Moroccan folk troupes, as well as 100 artists from foreign and African countries.

Organized by the Grand Atlas Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Department of Culture and the elected authorities of Marrakech, this festival, one of the oldest artistic events in he national scale, represents a platform to evoke the historical glories of artistic songs and dances which establish a bridge of communication between artists and the public eager for its heritage and interacting with expressive rhythms with historical symbols.

Note that the official festival show will be presented each night at the Royal Theater, with the participation of 30 popular troupes representing the regions of the Kingdom.

Two stages are also set up on the Jemaâ Fna square and the El Harti square to bring the festival closer to as many residents and visitors of the ocher city as possible, with a rich participation from Moroccan and foreign folk troupes on the menu.
