56 kg of drugs seized in Anbar and Salahuddin »

The Ministry of Interior – General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs announced today, Tuesday, the seizure of (56) kilograms of narcotics and the arrest of (4) drug dealers in the governorates of Anbar and Salah al-Din.

The ministry said in a statement received by the (INA): “Under the direction of the Director General of Narcotics Affairs, Major General Ahmed Al-Zarkani, and within the framework of the supreme national campaign to combat drugs and the security duties carried out by the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs, two qualitative operations with precise intelligence depth were carried out after forming a working team headed by the Director of the Anbar Narcotics Affairs Directorate, which resulted in the arrest of drug dealers and the seizure of (17,500) kilograms of Captagon narcotic pills that were extracted from underground in Anbar.”
The statement added, “On the other hand, the second task force headed by the Director of Narcotics Affairs in Salah al-Din was able to arrest drug dealers red-handed after they attempted to transport (38,500) kilograms of the narcotic substance Tramadol that was hidden in a truck used to transport fruit within Salah al-Din Governorate.”
The statement continued, “The men of the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs are still pursuing a group of soft death networks in a number of governorates with high energy and great determination to arrest drug dealers and promoters and crime networks that are no less dangerous than armed terrorism. The law and the just Iraqi national judiciary will inflict the punishment these scoundrels deserve.”
