WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Police are currently conducting an investigation following the discovery of the body of a 56-year-old man from Deltona, who was found shot near 45th Street and Jog Road on Sunday morning, according to a spokesman for the authorities.
At around 7 a.m, a jogger stumbled upon the remains of William Tempesta from Volusia County. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was located to the west of Florida’s Turnpike. Spokesman Mike Jachles indicated during a news conference held outside the police headquarters that there is a possibility that the body may have been relocated from another location.
“We have more questions than answers at this point,” said Jachles, emphasizing the need for public assistance in shedding light on the incident.
Jachles also shared that Tempesta did not have a history of violence, and the family was not particularly close. Additionally, he revealed that the family initially enacted Marsy’s Law—an initiative designed to protect the privacy rights of crime victims—however, the police managed to persuade them to rescind it in order to release the victim’s name and gather more information from potential witnesses and informants.
