58 lakh project works to fulfill basic needs

The meeting of the Melur Municipal Council was presided over by Chairman Mohammad Yasin. In which 46 resolutions were read.

2nd Ward A.M.U.K. Councilor Anand Venkateswara should set up joint Cauvery drinking water connection in Nagar. Sewerage should be constructed in Venkateswara extension areas. He submitted a petition to the leader demanding that a crematorium should be set up in the Burma colony.

Responding to this, the City Council President said that Cauvery combined drinking water will be supplied to all the wards in Mellur, municipal drinking water will be pumped into overhead tanks.

9th Ward Councilor Arun Sundara Prabhu demanded that steps be taken to replace the gas cremation platform in Pattakulam Cemetery. Responding to that, the city council president said that the electrical cemetery will be replaced by GIAs.

23rd Ward ADMK Councilor Diwakar Tamilarasan and 12th Councilor Vijazhagan spoke about the needs of their ward. Whoever encroached on the Chief Municipality area, those encroachments will be removed from wards 1 to 27 tomorrow (22nd) in the interest of the public.

Garbage carts will be provided to collect the garbage. He said that all councilor requests will be fulfilled. A resolution was passed for the construction of basic requirements such as sewage drains, roads and bridges in the Mellur Nagar area at an estimate of Rs.58 lakh.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Ilanjezhiyan, Commissioner Arumugam, Engineer Patturajan, Health Officer Manikandan and councilors.
