Continuing struggle

The issue of hijab is taking shape in Kannada. Muslim students coming to school and college wearing hijab are being denied admission. Thus Muslim students continue to struggle in front of school and college after skipping class.

Similarly, the government P.U. Fifty-eight Muslim students in the college have been protesting since they were denied permission to wear the hijab.

Chief talks

College Principal Somasekar held talks with the students in this regard. He emphasized that the decision was not a signal of a formal antitrust inquiry into the allegations, but rather a signal of a formal antitrust inquiry into the allegations. But the students, who refused to remove the hijab, said they would not return to the college until the final verdict of the tribunal and returned home from there.

Minister warns

State School Education Minister PC Nages has warned that the school should not stop students from infusing saffron into schools and colleges and if they do so, the headmaster and college principals will be severely punished.

He said this in an interview to reporters in Bangalore yesterday: –

Comparing …

The Karnataka High Court has imposed an interim injunction on schools and colleges to wear religious symbols. This is something everyone should follow. It is our duty to follow the order of the tribunal. For that it is not right to resist wearing saffron and bracelets. Wearing the hijab is a symbol of one religion. Bracelet, saffron is a decorative item.

It is not acceptable to compare hijab and saffron. It also came to my notice that in some schools and colleges in the state, teachers had detained students who had brought saffron. Incidents like this are unacceptable.

Heavy action

Students should not be prevented from bringing saffron to school and colleges. Violations will result in stern action being taken against the teachers, principals and head teachers concerned. Education officials have also been ordered in this regard.

Authorities will take action against teachers who prevent students from consuming saffron. Since the hijab is a symbol of a religion, we say do not wear it.

At the same time no order was issued to come to school and college with decorative items including bangles and saffron. It is the choice of the student.

Thus said P.C.Nokes.

Excitement

The minister’s order has caused a stir as students, who have been protesting for permission to wear the hijab, have been chanting slogans for the past few days to ban the use of saffron and water.
