Chennai: A court in Saidapet has ordered the jailing of 6 policemen who have already been arrested by 2 policemen in connection with the murder of an inmate till the 20th. Vignesh, a resident of Pattinapakkam, who was taken away for questioning on the morning of the 19th of last month for possession of cannabis and a firearm, died mysteriously at the police station in the lower Kellys area of ​​Chennai. The case was transferred to the CPCIT. The day before yesterday, the CPCIT police visited the General Secretariat Colony police station and conducted a serious investigation on the police including Inspector Senthil Kumar.

The summons were issued to Chief Inspector Colony Police Inspector Senthil Kumar, Assistant Inspector Pukalum Perumal, Constable Paunraj, Home Guard Deepak, Assistant Inspector Ganapathy, Station Secretary Munab, Driver Karthik, Chief Constable Kumar and Women Constable Anandi. The CBCID police conducted the investigation from around 11 a.m. yesterday. Meanwhile, a letter of recommendation was sent to the Tamil Nadu DGP yesterday on behalf of the National Commission for the Underprivileged to arrest 5 policemen involved in the Vignesh murder case.

The CBCID police yesterday arrested two policemen, including clerk Munab and constable Paunraj, in connection with the Vignesh murder case. In particular, the investigation has revealed that Vignesh was assaulted by policeman Paunraj during a vehicle check and later kept at the General Secretariat Colony police station by Munaf.

The CBCID police yesterday arrested four persons, Deepak, a police constable, Kumar and two constables under the Prevention of Torture Act, SC and ST. The CBCID police produced the six arrested persons in the Saidapet court. The judge remanded them in custody until the 20th of this month. Subsequently, 6 people were imprisoned.
