Six people were killed and 37 injured in collisions involving more than 70 vehicles Along a major highway in the US state of Illinois, due to a dust storm that swept the area yesterday.
And CNN news quoted the state police as saying: A severe storm laden with dust from agricultural fields blew in Montgomery and Sangamon counties in the south of the state across the highway, and led to a lack of visibility, causing more than 70 vehicles to collide, killing six people and injuring 37. Others were injured, some seriously.
Police added: The highway in South Sangamon and North Montgomery counties remains closed, while search and rescue teams continue to search for victims among damaged vehicles.
